Rainer hat jetzt die Kette und die Winsch zur FRIENDSHIP gebracht. Bevor die Kette an Bord gewinscht werden kann, müssen wir sie noch in den entsprechenden Farben lackieren, um die 10-Meter Einteilungen anzubringen. Aber es ist recht windig - Windstärke 5 - das macht es etwas schwierig, da der Sprühnebel ohne einen Schutz unser oder auch das Nachbarboot erreichen könnte. Daher hat Rainer mal wieder einen seiner Gedankenblitze gehabt und eine provisorische, aber effektive, Lackierbox gebastelt... Auch wenn diese etwas wackelig aussieht, sie hat ihren Zweck voll und ganz erfüllt: Kette lackiert - Boote geschützt. Jetzt muss die Farbe noch trocknen, der Anker an die neue Ketter angeschäkelt werden und dann winschen wir alles zurück an Bord.
Außerdem hat Rainer noch die neue Ankerwinsch angebracht, den Kettenkasten gereinigt und auch die Rostspuren am Gelcoat rund um die Ankerwinsch entfernt.
Rainer has now brought the chain and winch to FRIENDSHIP. Before the chain can be winched on board, we still have to paint it in the appropriate colors to mark the 10-meter divisions. But it's pretty windy - force 5 - which makes it a bit difficult, as the spray mist could reach our boat or the neighboring boat without any protection. So Rainer had another flash of inspiration and made a makeshift, but effective, paint box...
Even if it looks a bit wobbly, it served its purpose perfectly: Chain painted - boats protected. Now the paint still has to dry, the anchor has to be attached to the new chain and then we'll winch everything on board.
Rainer has also fitted the new windlass, cleaned the chain locker and removed the traces of rust from the gelcoat around the anchor windlass.
