Ideales Segelwetter!! Halbwind, 4-5 Bft und nur 1-2 m Welle. Und das schon seit gestern Nachmittag. Ich kann mich kaum noch erinnern, wann wir das letzte Mal so geschmeidig dahin gerauscht
sind.
Nach all den Starkwind-Tagen mit viel Welle, ist das eine sehr willkommene Abwechslung.
Über Nacht hatten wir das Großsegel noch im 3. Reff und hatten eine sehr ruhige und erholsame Fahrt mit einer Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit von 6,8 kn.
Heute Morgen dann - frisch ausgeruht und bei strahlend blauem Himmel, habe ich ausgerefft und seit 09:00 Uhr rauschen wir mit 8 - 10 kn nach Osten. (Groß immer noch im Reff 1 - wir haben noch
Reserven;-))
Jetzt bemerken wir zunehmend, dass wir uns einer der Hauptschifffahrtsrouten nähern, haben immer mal wieder einen AIS-Kontakt mit Frachtern und Tankern, die bisher alle auf dem Weg nach Westen
waren.
Das wird sicher spannend, wenn wir uns in 2-3 Tagen dem Verkehrstrennungsgebiet bei Cabo Sao Vicente nähern.
Gestern spät abends gab es am Funk noch eine Nautische Warnnachricht über einen treibenden Container, der nahe unserer Route gesichtet wurde.
Die Position haben wir in die Seekarten und Plotter eingetragen und werden schauen, dass wir da genügend Platz lassen, wenn wir in die Nähe kommen.
Lt. Wetterbericht sollte der Wind bis mindestens morgen früh in etwa so bleiben, also rauschen wir munter weiter Richtung Kontinent.

Perfect Sailing - Beam Reach, 4-5 Bft and only 1-2 m waves… and it is like that since yesterday afternoon.
I can hardly remember when we last had such perfect conditions.
After all the strong-wind / gale sailing conditions and huge waves, this is a more than welcome change for us.
During last night we had left the mainsail in 3rd reef and so we had an extremely calm and relaxing run through the night.
This morning, well rested, blue skies, I reefed out and since 09:00 am we are speeding Eastwards with 8 to 10 kn. (Still reef 1 in the main - we still have some reserves ;-))
We realise that we are approaching some main shipping routes now, as we see more and more AIS contacts with tankers and cargo-ships. So far all of them on their way to the West.
That will get exciting once we get closer to the traffic separation scheme around Cabo Sao Vicente in 2 to 3 days.
Yesterday late evening we received a Navigational Warning via VHF: Container adrift close to our planned course. We have noted the position in our charts and on the plotter and will surely give
it a wide berth, once we get close to the area.
According to the weather report, we will have these conditions at least until tomorrow morning and so we keep “flying” towards the continent.
Attention Advertising: We still have free cabins or you can also charter the whole boat including crew just for yourself: summer / autumn in Greece, Ionian and Aegean Sea, Corinth channel…
