Es geht endlich zurück ins Wasser! Und natürlich ist alles wieder ganz aufregend - es dauert eine ganze Weile, bis die richtigen Druckpunkte gefunden sind und die FRIENDSHIP aufgebockt werden kann. Auch das manövrieren aus der "Parklücke" erweist sich als nicht ganz so simpel, denn mittlerweile steht neben uns ein weiterer Katamaran und der Rangierraum ist somit ziemlich eingeschränkt. Aber die Mitarbeiter der Power Boat Marina sind versiert genug, um auch diese Situation zu bewältigen und so sind wir innerhalb einer Stunde wieder im Wasser...
Aber es wäre ja zu schön, wenn alles glatt ginge - kaum sind wir im Wasser. steigt Rauch aus einem unserer Motorräume, Rainer hat das Problem zwar sofort bemerkt und den Motor ausgeschaltet, aber wir sind dann mit nur einem Motor zum Liegeplatz gefahren. Dort mussten wir mit einigem Wind zwischen zwei Dalben anlegen und auf jeder Seite sind da nur ca. 15 cm Platz - echt eng, auch mit zwei Motoren... Doch Rainer ist ein guter Skipper und beim zweiten Versuch sind wir dann glatt zwischendurch gekommen.
Jetzt können wir uns um die Fehleranalyse kümmern, Gott sei Dank war es "nur"eine festgefressene Lichtmaschine und dadurch lief der Keilriemen heiß - kleine Ursache, große Wirkung. Manchmal sind es halt die kleinen Dinge...
Wir liegen jetzt auf jeden Fall wieder im Wasser und werden die letzten Vorbereitungen für unsere Fahrt nach Grenada und den folgenden Törn planen.
Finally back in the water! And of course it's all very exciting again - it takes quite a while until the right hoisting points are found and the FRIENDSHIP can be jacked up. Maneuvering out of the "parking space" also proves to be not quite so simple, as there is now another catamaran next to us and the manoeuvring space is therefore quite limited. But the staff at Power Boat Marina are experienced enough to handle this situation and we are back in the water within an hour...
But it would have been too easy if everything went smoothly - as soon as we are in the water, there is smoke out of one of our engine rooms, Rainer noticed the problem immediately and switched off the engine, but we then drove to the mooring with only one engine. There we had to moor between two dolphins with some wind and there is only about 15 cm of space on each side - really tight, even with two engines... But Rainer is a good skipper and on the second attempt we managed to get smoothly in between them.
Now we can take care of the fault analysis, thank God it was "only" a stuck alternator and therefore the V-belt ran hot - small cause, big effect. Sometimes it's just the little things...
In any case, we are now back in the water and will plan the final preparations for our trip to Grenada and the following cruise.
