Aufgrund des widrigen Wetters - es regnet ständig - habe ich damit angefangen, die Leisten in der Galley, die aufgrund der teilweise undichten Luken im Salon ständig feucht wurden, abzuschleifen. Diese Leisten lassen sich nicht ohne größeres Tamtam abmachen, daher schleife und lackiere ich die an Ort und Stelle. Damit es nicht ganz so sehr staubt, erledige ich das in Handarbeit und nicht mit der Maschine. Das dauert zwar länger, aber der Dreck hält sich so in Grenzen.
Für die Schranktüren und Schubladen muss ich dann aber etwas trockneres Wetter abwarten, das lässt sich leichter und schneller mit dem Excenterschleifer erledigen...
Due to the adverse weather - it's raining constantly - I've started sanding down the moldings in the galley, which were constantly getting damp due to the partially leaking hatches in the saloon. These moldings can't be removed without a lot of fuss, so I sand and paint them in place. I do this by hand and not with a machine so that it doesn't get quite so dusty. It takes longer, but the dirt is kept to a minimum.
For the cupboard doors and drawers, however, I have to wait for drier weather, as it is easier and quicker to do with the eccentric sander...
