Wir sind da! Um 02.22 Uhr heute morgen sind wir über die Ziellinie gesegelt. Es war zum Ende nochmals spannend - ist uns doch auf den letzten Metern (2 Tage vor Ankunft) noch das Fall für den Gennaker gerissen, das riesige Segel rauschte ins Wasser, alle Mann (Frauen) haben mitgeholfen, das Segel wieder an Bord zu hieven, dabei ist es natürlich gerissen. Das Material des Gennaker ist relativ dünn, da es sich um ein Leichtwind-Segel handelt.
Bei dem weiterhin vorherrschenden Leichtwind, hat uns das natürlich ganz schön ausgebremst, trotzdem konnten wir unsere Mitsegler noch auf Abstand halten, wenn auch knapp....
Nachdem wir dann in der Rodney Bay Marina angelegt haben, kamen Mitarbeiter der ARC und brachten uns Obst und flüssiges Obst - Rumpunch!!!
Die Nacht war kurz und die Flaschen hinterher leer... Es ist schön, wieder an Land zu sein.
We are here! We crossed the finish line at 2:22 a.m. this morning. It was exciting again at the end - in the last few meters (2 days before arrival) the gennaker's halyard broke, the huge sail rushed into the water, all the men (women) helped to hoist the sail back on board , of course it broke. The material of the gennaker is relatively thin because it is a light wind sail.
With the light wind still prevailing, this of course slowed us down quite a bit, but we were still able to keep our fellow sailors at a distance, albeit just...
After we docked at Rodney Bay Marina, ARC employees came and brought us fruit and liquid fruit - rum punch!!!
The night was short and the bottles were empty afterwards... It's nice to be back on land.
